Nura — 24

Debasmita

Nura is the daughter of Sarah, a para-anthropologist. Her family is infamous for practicing dark magic to help people. After her mother attempts to summon a jinn through a forbidden ritual, Nura becomes the target of paranormal events. She is the main character of the story.

Hasan — 32

Hasan is an aspiring paranormal investigator. He studies cases of possession and plays a key role in uncovering the relationship between the jinn and the taweez.

The Jinn — 35

The jinn is the main antagonist who orchestrates possessions and deaths, targets Nura, and seeks a taweez tied to Nura’s bloodline.

Sana — 22

Sana is Nura’s close friend. She gives Nura refuge when she experiences paranormal events. Sana later becomes possessed by a dangerous ghoul jinn.

Ruma — 25

A para-anthropology research student who gets possessed by a dangerous jinn. She is a close friend of Nura, Sana, and Hasan.

Raqi — 65

A spiritual healer and practitioner of ruqyah who treats cases of jinn possession, black magic, and the evil eye.

Sarah — 44

Nura’s mother, a known para-anthropologist and metaphysicist who attempts to summon a jinn through a forbidden ritual.

Old Man — 65

A jinn disguised as an old man who asks Nura questions about a taweez.

Guardian Angel — 5

An angel in human form that appears once when Ayat al-Kursi is recited. She prevents the jinn from harming Nura.

Director, Executive Producer

Directs the story and screenplay as envisioned, guiding actor performances and the film’s cinematography and lighting. Guides the creative vision for costume design, wardrobe selection, SFX makeup, props, and set dressing. Oversees major production decisions, including financing, approvals, budgets, and schedules, ensuring the film stays on time and within budget.

Director of Photography (DP), Camera Operator A

Designs the film’s cinematography, working closely with the director. Defines shot framing, shot composition, and camera movement, and guides the camera operators. Guides the gaffer on lighting setup for the overall visual style. Operates the main camera during shooting.

Operates the second camera under the DoP’s supervision, captures additional angles and shots to enhance the film’s cinematography.

Makeup Artist (SFX)

Applies character makeup and hair styling, ensuring continuity across scenes. Creates and applies SFX makeup as required, including blackened skin effects for the Jinn character, as well as blood, wounds, and scars for various characters.

Camera Operator (BTS)

Captures behind-the-scenes and EPK content during the filming of Nura, documenting candid on-set moments, crew at work, set preparations, blocking rehearsals, and interactions between the director, cast, and crew. The role involves both still photography and video, with a focus on authentically documenting the filmmaking process.

Gaffer

Handles on-set lighting for the production. Works closely with the DoP to design and execute the lighting for each scene. Manages lighting equipment, sets up fixtures, and adjusts lighting during the shoot.

Location Sound Recordist, Boom Operator

Handles on-location sound recording, selects and sets up microphones, monitors audio levels throughout filming, records diegetic sound as required, and operates the boom microphone.

Gitu Moni Kashyap

Production Assistant

Responsible for communicating between the director, cast, and crew. Manages background actors and extras on set. Liaises with locations and oversees the transportation and movement of cast and crew. Helps coordinate cast call times and handles small on-set logistics and location needs.

Places diffusers, flags, cutters, and reflectors as directed by the gaffer and DP, and physically sets and holds them as needed during filming.
